Solar Flare

Experimental Hop Flake IPA | Released 08/20/2026

This big IPA is a deep golden orange color and slightly hazy (from the hop flakes.) The aroma is intense, full of citrus zest, melon, orchard fruit, nectarine and tropical goodness. The intense aroma is matched by piney, dank, grapefruit, candy orange and bitter flavors. The bitterness lingers and leaves a strong zesty hop flavor.

Hop flakes are a new experimental technology out of new Zeleand/Australia. They take full hop cones and squeeze the oils out and dry them on to acacia gum. Essentially making hop dabs lol. This process can turn 11 pounds of hops into 100 grams of hop flakes, basically making shipping free by comparison and eliminating dry hop loss in the tank! So far flakes are limited to just a few varieties, but hopefully will catch on in the future.

Solar Flare is the 4th hop flake beer ever made and the first beer to replace the entire dry hop with experimental flakes.
